The Archie Creek Fire burning east of Glide is still listed at just under 116,000 acres, and was 10 percent contained as of Saturday night.
An update from Northwest Incident Management Team 9 said on Saturday wildland firefighters worked with local fire departments, industrial landowners and loggers on structure protection. They created containment lines around the perimeter of the blaze. The majority of the work was completed around the western flank of the fire between the Little River area and the Nonpariel area. Air operations remained grounded due to the thick smoke which blanketed the region. 495 people are now assigned to the Archie Creek Fire.
