FLINT, MI - The Eastside Franklin Park Neighborhood Association will be hosting its Sizzlin’ Summer Sell-A-Bration craft fair event on Saturday, July 24.
The craft event will take place at Eastside Franklin Park, located on the vacant lot situated on the corner of North Franklin and Ohio avenues, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m, with children’s activities taking place from noon to 3 p.m.
The Eastside Franklin Park Neighborhood Association is a small neighborhood association being proactive in the community by assisting residents with various necessities, such as neighborhood clean-ups.
“If somebody is having an issue or they don’t know where to go to ask for help in various things, we try very hard to be proactive in the neighborhood,” said Edna Sabucco, one of the craft fair organizers and part of the neighborhood association. “If somebody has a question, we try very hard to find an answer for them.”
Sabucco said the event will have plenty of vendors and activities for community members to part take in throughout the day.
She added that the fair will feature face painting, grilling, ice cream bars, and fun things for the neighborhood kids to engage in.
There’s a pavilion on the premises along with a couple of picnic tables for people to come by, sit and enjoy the days events.
Asbury Church will be preparing the food for the day’s event as part of their “Sizzling Culture” program,” Sabucco said.
The craft fair will also have COVID-19 vaccines available for anyone interested.
“I was able to work with the Genesee County Health Department and they said they would come in and do back to school vaccines as well as COVID (vaccines),” Sabucco said. “We’re just trying to be proactive community members.
“It’s small potatoes but I hope that everybody will come out and have fun. I’d truly love to see more of the neighborhood residents come out to see the park, get acquainted with one another and get involved in cleaning up the area which would make it safer.”
The event has six vendors signed up, but they are still welcoming more. Anyone interested in being a vendor at the event may call 810-908-7654.
