WAUSAU – Despite the coronavirus pandemic that is keeping people home and limiting access to public spaces, the local craft spirit industry remains a key player in north central Wisconsin’s economic and entertainment landscape.
At 10 a.m. today, June 26, Wisconsin Public Radio’s “Route 51” presents an encore broadcast of host Shereen Siewert’s conversation with Brian Cummins of Great Northern Distilling, Plover, and beverage consultant Zach Strenger of Copper & Pines Cocktail Co., Stevens Point. They discuss central and northern Wisconsin’s thirst for premium, limited-edition spirits and the craft spirit industry’s impact on our local economy.
“Route 51” airs Fridays at 10 a.m. on The Ideas Network stations 101.3 & 91.9/Wausau, AM 930/Auburndale-Stevens Point, 99.1/Stevens Point, 100.9/Marshfield, 90.3/Park Falls, 89.1/Adams-Wisconsin Rapids, and 89.9/Rhinelander-Eagle River.
