Gastropub Productions, a new restaurant group by McCord Development headed by chef Justin Turner, opened Bocca Italian Kitchen and Lupo Pizzeria in Generation Park. The restaurants at 250 Assay St. in the Redemption Square lifestyle district took over the space previously occupied by Wholesome Kitchen & Pies. Generation Park is a 4,200-acre development of Houston-based McCord, with office, retail, industrial, residential and hospitality components near Beltway 8 and West Lake Houston Parkway. Turner is the creator of the now-closed Bernie’s Burger Bus and a winner on the Food Network's “Chopped” show.
Velvet Taco, the Dallas-based taco chain, opened at 2001 N. Shepherd Drive in the Heights, its third Houston location and first with a drive-thru. The 3,139-square-foot restaurant has indoor seating for more than 80 and a covered patio that seats more than 50. Two additional locations will open in 2021, starting with the Galleria area on West Loop 610 near Westheimer by Dillard's on Jan. 25, followed by Rice Village this summer. Velvet Taco has 18 locations across the U.S.
Tiny's Milk & Cookies, a division of Tiny Boxwoods restaurants selling cookies, pastries, breads, homemade ice cream and coffee drinks, plans to open a Memorial Villages location in the Village Towers at 9655 Katy Freeway in the second quarter. Hannah Tosch of Colliers International represented the tenant, Tiny Boxwood's Holdings. The landlord, Moody National HQ, was represented in-house.
Original Chopshop leased 3,550 square feet in Tanglewood Shopping Center, 5018-D San Felipe. Josh Friedlander of NewQuest Properties represented the landlord, RPI Management Co. Ben Brown of Baker Katz represented the tenant.
Garden Thai Cuisine leased 3,804 square feet of restaurant and patio space at the Washington Building, 2228 Mechanic St., Galveston, from Mitchell Historic Properties. Kimberly DeVos of Cypressbrook Co. represented the tenant.
Scoop Craft Creamery leased 1,200 square feet in the Baybrook Gateway shopping center at Bay Area Boulevard and Interstate 45 in Webster. The store, which sells ice cream, milkshakes, cookies and coffee and offers catering for parties, corporate events and weddings, is owned by Camille and Julian Haynes. Carrie Murray represented the landlord, Weingarten Realty.
Neat Stuff Boutique signed a lease at 511 W. Little York, Suite B. James Sinclair with CMI Brokerage represented the landlord, Little York Beltline.
Special Smiles Kid's Dentistry & Orthodontics leased 2,982 square feet in the Shops at Sedona Lakes, at Texas 288 and Bailey Avenue, Manvel, from NewQuest Properties. Kevin Sims of NewQuest Properties represented the landlord. George Allen of Practice Real Estate Group represented the tenant.
Juicy Crab opened a second Houston location. The Cajun seafood restaurant is now open at 6501 Texas 6 North in addition to 17278 Tomball Parkway.
Polar Clean renewed at 12450 Texas 3 in Webster. Dani Allison of Resolut RE represented the tenant.
Rococo Salon Suites leased 1,918 square feet at Eagle Springs Shopping Center, 5444 Atascocita Road, Humble. Jim Thompson and Benny Nguyen of Resolut RE represented the landlord.
