GRIGGSVILLE, Ill. (WGEM) -- Local businesses and vendors got some time in the spotlight at The Bird City Craft and Vendor Show on Saturday afternoon in Griggsville, Illinois.
The show was held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall.
Vendors came from Adams, Pike and Brown County selling everything from tumblers and T-shirts, to candles and homemade decorations.
The show was organized in part by Monique Hyde, a Griggsville resident also runs a local crafts business called The HydeAway.
One of the participants, a DJ named Jessica Jones, said she felt that events such as this one help local businesses attract more customers.
"I think its important to promote the small businesses that we have in our area, it gives everyone an opportunity to see locally what we have available," she said.
Due to the high turnout and positive response from the community, organizers said they hope to do this show again in the coming months.
