BRATTLEBORO — The statewide Vermont Craft Council’s Fall Open Studio Weekend Saturday and Sunday will include four craftspeople with studios in West Brattleboro and Marlboro, and a gallery in Brattleboro.
Participating sites will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings. Visitors will have the chance to see demonstrations, purchase handcrafted items, talk to the professional artisans who made them and see the environment where their creative work happens.
The participants are: Orchard Street Pottery, 658 Orchard St., Brattleboro, where potter Walter Slowinski will be displaying his work in the pavilion, offering a rain-protected outdoor setting; Naomi Lindenfeld, colored clay pottery, Clayworks, 330 Meadowbrook Road, Brattleboro; Chris Lann Designs, jewelry, 1420 Sunset Lake Road, Brattleboro; and Matthew Tell Pottery, 163 Potters Hill Road, Marlboro.
Lindenfeld noted that 25% of her proceeds from sales will be donated to the Community Asylum Seekers Project.
To ensure safety during the pandemic, visitors are asked to wear face masks in all indoor spaces.
All four of the Brattleboro area studios participating in the tour belong to members of Brattleboro-West Arts, a group of professional artists and craftspeople who live and work in the watershed of the Whetstone Brook. Tourgoers can pick up guidebooks with maps at any participating site statewide.
