Summer months typically mean higher water bills, but it doesn’t have to be that way.

Residential water customers now have the tools to monitor and manage water use via the recently launched City of Fort Worth online portal. Customers can see usage on an hourly basis the following day and pay a bill with one login.

It is easy to see if your water is constantly running, indicating a leak and a higher water bill.

Customers can now register for the free portal. If you prefer the mobile app, visit your app store and search Fort Worth MyH2O.

All meters with activated radios for remote reading will be able to see their hourly and daily usage. Some customers have new a new meter, but not the radio connection that allows for remote reading. Shortages in the computer chip industry slowed radio supplies to Fort Worth. As those radios are delivered, they will be installed.

If your usage page shows monthly usage but not hourly or daily selection options, the meter at your location does not have the radio yet. When that changes, customers will spot the hourly and daily data icons on the water usage page.

On the “My Account” page, customers can update contact information, let the utility know their preferred contact methods and choose to see the information in Spanish or English. It is also where users set up payment method details and can change the view of their home page.

Customers who pay online will use the same login information (user email and password) the first time, but will receive an email to reset the password. A screen pop-up will relay this information. There is no need to reregister your account.

New users should have their account number, billing cycle and route numbers ready to register. This information is on your billing statement, or call customer service at 817-392-4477 to request the information.

The “one-time payment” option is still available for customers who do not want to register their account.

Additional features will be added to the portal in the coming months, including the option to open and close an account and comparing your water use to others in your area.
