Main Street America is on the mend and Central Standard Craft Distillery, a local Milwaukee small business, is playing a pivotal role thanks to Distillery co-founders Evan Hughes and Pat McQuillan’s March 15 pivot to manufacturing hand sanitizer. On March 15, Central Standard focused on helping the community, now they’re focused on helping businesses.
“The question quickly shifted from how can we use this sanitizer to help Milwaukeeans to how can we use this sanitizer to help businesses here in Milwaukee and across the country, who are tirelessly working to support the community,” said Evan Hughes. “The mission has always been how can we keep people safe, but what’s also important as we look to re-open, how can we get the community back to work safely.”
In their mission to help businesses far-and-wide get back to work safely, Central Standard has created a business-focused bulk purchasing online portal where companies of all sizes can order hand sanitizer directly from the Milwaukee-based manufacturer.
Central Standard first partnered with Andis Company, a family-owned business in Racine and leading manufacturer of hair products and pet-grooming supplies. The barbershop industry is one of many hit hardest by the pandemic. Through its partnership with Central Standard, Andis will help small businesses nationwide by shipping distillery-made hand sanitizer to barbers and groomers coast-to-coast.“COVID-19 has been incredibly disruptive for so many in our industry, and we’re excited to team up with a local Wisconsin company, Central Standard Craft Distillery, to get barbers and groomers back to work safely,” said Matt Andis, Co-Owner of Andis Company.
Along with barber shops and pet groomers nationwide, Central Standard sanitizer is being used by locally in Milwaukee by restaurant Ardent, the Shorewood Little League, Horizon Hospice, and businesses on Brady Street through the Brady Street Business Improvement District, among others.
“As business-owners ourselves, we know first-hand the importance local businesses have in our community and want to use our disinfectant to support businesses here in Wisconsin and across the nation on their re-opening journey,” McQuillan added, “At Central Standard we’re about local helping local and with this initiative it’s about local helping local on Main Street and beyond.”
Central Standard Craft Distillery still has sanitizer available to companies and groups of all sizes and scope.
Business owners can visit www.thecentralstandard.com and visit the Business Only page to submit an order request so we can all work together on reopening safely. For bulk orders, businesses can choose to pick up their order or Central Standard can ship.
