Sandra Lou Goodson Craft Lloyd September 29, 1934 – July 20, 2020 Surrounded by her devoted family and caregivers, Sandy passed away peacefully at her home on July 20, 2020 after a long illness. Sandy was born in Washington, D.C. to Harriet Westfall Goodson and Harry Clifford Goodson, Jr. They lived in Wichita, Kansas, New Orleans and Los Alamos where Sandy graduated from Los Alamos High School where she received the first of her awards for being beautiful and gracious as Homecoming Queen. She attended college as a proud Pi Beta Phi at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She married Cecil I. Craft in 1956 where she taught elementary school for a year while Cecil finished his final year at Colorado School of Mines. They moved frequently in the oil business until Cecil established his own business in New Orleans. Sandy was the accomplished hostess who could arrange a party in a few hours doing the cooking and decorating herself, all the while managing the six children. In New Orleans, Sandy was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Alumni Association and a member of the Symphony League. The Craft family moved to Houston when the business was relocated there. Sandy continued her hostessing duties along with her contributions to many charitable organizations. She was a member of the Houston Racquet Club, a Camp Fire Leader, an officer in the Pi Beta Phi Alumni Association and a board member in the Delia Stewart Dance Company. After her divorce, she worked at Rice University in the Pre Med and Pre Law Department. A woman of many talents, she also worked as a successful sales person for an advertising company. With the children now grown, and as she had always loved Colorado, she bravely sold her home on Voss Road and embarked on her new adventure. She settled in Vail and while on a Club Fifty hike, met Charles Lloyd, a resident of Dallas and Vail. After a whirlwind romance, they married in Dallas on April 30, 1994. After several years, they sold their two Vail homes and together built their beautiful dream home in Beaver Creek. Charles and Sandy enjoyed being members of a couples’ book club and the Beaver Creek Club. They were also charter board members of the Round Up River Ranch, Paul Newman’s Camps for severely ill children. Because of Sandy’s fragile condition due to osteoporosis, they made the difficult decision to sell their Beaver Creek home. They moved back to their Dallas home where Charles made it possible for her to stay in their home while receiving loving care from him, her children and caregivers. The Craft and Lloyd family want to especially thank the network of invaluable caregivers coordinated by Juanita Green, Sandy’s primary caregiver and angel on earth. Sandy is survived by Charles, her devoted husband of 26 years and his two children Lynn Buxton (Chad) and Charles Lloyd, III (Monique); her brother Harry Clifford Goodson III (Sue); her six children Catherine Gonzales (John), Alicia Gower (David), Kelley Morris (Bryan), Dana Craft Grew (Mike), Chip Craft, Sarah Ridley (Bren); her eight grandchildren Winston Elliott IV (Marti), Elizabeth Elliott, Myles Hamm, Curtis Muller, Brian Muller, Natalie Grew, Rachel Ridley, Renee Ridley; her four great-grandchildren Addison Elliott, Will Elliott, Owen Elliott and Amelia Ridley; and three nephews Robert Goodson (Tracy), Richard Goodson (Isabel), Craig Goodson (Agnessa).
