Aaron Craft’s basketball career might have come to an end on Wednesday.
The former Ohio State Buckeyes star said heading into The Basketball Tournament that he was probably done following the competition. Craft, who’s played professionally overseas, is heading into a career in the medical field.
Unfortunately, Craft’s final go-round on the hardwood did not last very long. Carmen’s Crew, the reigning champions and No. 1 overall seed in TBT, were upset by House of Paign in the Round of 16.
Craft posted a heartfelt message on Twitter following the game.
“Thanks for giving us another opportunity. You never know what will happen and that’s why we love the game. Congrats @IlliniTBT. Definitely earned it today!” he wrote.

Jared Sullinger, who starred at Ohio State with Craft and coached him in TBT, sent his former teammate a heartwarming message, too.
“You will be missed… we literally been playing on the same team since 15 years old. Your love passion and overall selflessness will be missed my brother. Hate that your last game went the way it went. But WE LOVE YOU MAN!!!” he wrote.

Craft appreciated the message.
“My guy!! Crazy how time flies… thankful for our friendship and the many, many battles we’ve been able to fight together,” he wrote back.

Craft has not completely shut the door on playing in TBT next year, but if this is truly it for his basketball career, he will be missed.
