Northeast Ohio breweries win big in Ohio Craft Brewers Cup - cleveland.com

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Market Garden Brewery, Akronym Brewing and Avon Brewing Co. won regional awards in the Ohio Craft Brewers Cup held this month.

A dozen breweries from the region earned medals in the statewide competition that is usually held in June but was shifted because of Covid concerns. More than 75 total awards were given over 29 style categories in the competition, which is judged by professional brewers.

Best Greater Cleveland Brewery: Market Garden Brewery

Best Northeast Brewery: Akronym Brewing

Best Medium Brewery (Less than 15,000 but greater than 5,000 barrels): Market Garden Brewery

Best Small Brewery (Less than 5,000 but greater than 1,000 barrels): Avon Brewing Co.

Gold - Missing Falls Brewing Co., Akron, Langered - Amber/Red Ale or Lager

Bronze – HiHO Brewing Co., Cuyahoga Falls - Boss Lady IPA, American IPA

Bronze – HiHO Brewing Co., Cuyahoga Falls - Gorges Blonde, American Light Ale

Silver – Akronym Brewing, Akron – Kernal of Truth, American Lager

Gold – Paradigm Shift, Massillon – Rodeo Clown, American Pale Ale

Silver – Lock 15 Brewing Co., Akron – Cascade Locks, American Pale Ale

Gold - Akronym Brewing, Akron – Gold on the Ceiling, Belgian/French Ale

Gold – Avon Brewing Co., Avon – Christmas Miracle, Specialty/hybrid experimental beer

Bronze- Eighty-Three Brewery, Akron - Good Kind of Funky, Specialty/hybrid experimental beer

Gold – Market Garden Brewery, Cleveland – Beastie, Stout

Silver – Phoenix Brewing Co., Mansfield - Ferryman Oatmeal Stout, Stout

Gold – Market Garden Brewery, Cleveland – Prosperity Wheat, Wheat Beer

Bronze – Saucy Brew Works, Cleveland, BF Hefe, Wheat Beer
