The latest: A history-making woman to preside over the Supreme Court vote
Return to menuThe magnitude of this moment cannot be overstated — the country’s first female, first Black and first Asian vice president will preside over the Senate as it confirms the first Black woman to sit on the Supreme Court.
Vice President Harris will preside over the Senate as the chamber votes to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson on Thursday afternoon, said Harris’s spokesman Herbie Ziskend.
In a statement, Ziskend said the Senate is “poised to make history” by voting on Jackson’s nomination.
“The Vice President believes Judge Jackson will be an exceptional Supreme Court Justice, and she looks forward to presiding over the Senate to mark this important moment,” Ziskend said.
