Anaheim’s Leisuretown is a wonderland for craft beer fans - OCRegister

The pool isn’t open yet but “it does wonders for the ambiance,” states the website for Anaheim’s Leisuretown, a wonderland for craft beer fans with a brewery by Modern Times, a restaurant, beer garden, mini market, event space and of course, the swimming pool.

The 33,000-square-foot resort-like setting is the latest project from Shaheen Sadeghi, founder of The LAB. “After four years of construction and restoration, we’re thrilled to open Leisuretown to the public. Leisuretown is Modern Times’ eighth and certainly most unique retail project,” said Modern Times CFO Chris Sarette in the announcement.

The beer garden will offer 70 Modern Times brews and ciders. House-roasted coffees, and wines will also be served. For foodies there will be a beer-friendly menu including salads, fries, Nashville chicken sandwiches, paletas, cookies, ice cream sandwiches and other goodies. There will also be plant-based items, such as the Cowboy Burger with house pickles, fried onion rings and a creamy coconut-based cheese.

The construction is an adaptive reuse of a historic warehouse, as well as a 1911 Craftsman house, and the property is within walking distance of the Anaheim Packing House.

“The Modern Times project is an extension of preserving and supporting our history and culture here in Anaheim,” Sadeghi said. “Our firm has been involved in restoration projects throughout downtown Anaheim and the birth of the Packing District. Each time we have done so, the appreciation, support and enthusiasm from the community has been fantastic.”

The rules: Social distancing; you and your group must be six feet apart from other groups. Your entire group (limited to 6 or less) must be present for entry and seating. Per state mandate, you must order a meal to accompany your beer. Seating is outside only, and guests must find a seat onsite. The state is not allowing guests to stand. If you’re not in a seat, you must have your mask on.
