Local craft fair at Morris Farm - Boothbay Register

On Saturday, Sept. 5, the Morris Farm Trust, 156 Gardiner Road, Wiscasset, will open the barn doors to welcome the public to a “socially distant” craft fair. Utilizing the barn and Learning Center, over 20 local crafters will be present. Stained glass, goat milk soap, candles, skin care, baked goods and more are just a few of the products being sold. All items are hand crafted or produced locally. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Organizer Daisy Cunningham is hoping this will be the start to a monthly show as many craft fairs have been postponed or canceled due to COVID-19 protocols.

“We have an advantage here at Morris Farm.” stated Cunningham. “We have the space required for safe social distancing and the necessary entrance and exit requirements. All crafters will be wearing masks, hand sanitizer will be available throughout the facility, and frequently touched surfaces will be wiped often.”

The number of customers will be limited and all are required to wear masks. “Disposable masks will be available if you’ve forgotten yours!” added Cunningham. There is no admittance fee. Contact Cunningham through the Morris Farm Facebook page for information on future fairs.

After visiting the fair, participants are invited to tour the farm grounds or stop by the Morris Farm Store for even more local crafts, artisan foods and fresh vegetables.

The Morris Farm is registered as a Forever Farm, protecting and promoting the farm land and buildings. If you are interested in becoming a member, or for more information, check out their website at www.morrisfarm.org
