With an eye towards spotlighting regional flavors and the people who create them, Spruce Point Inn announces a locally inspired dinner party pairing the Inn’s new Executive Chef Rick Koplau and his team with Blue Barren Distillery, a Camden producer of small batch, Maine inspired gins.
The evening of culinary collaboration on Friday, Aug. 7 at 6 p.m. will present a special four-course experience crafted by Chef Koplau to guide guests through perfectly paired aromas and flavors in sync with Blue Barren’s spirits, including rhubarb and blueberry infused gins.
Said Executive Chef Koplau, “It’s both humbling and professionally satisfying to be making exquisite food and working with a craft distiller during these unprecedented times. The hospitality industry and those who support it have been hit the hardest by COVID-19. I feel doing a series of upscale craft dinners is our way of fighting back and saying ‘we’re alive and well!’”
The safety of guests is Spruce Point Inn’s priority. Social distancing with a reduced capacity will be exercised and CDC and local health department guidelines will be observed.
Guests are asked to wear masks unless they are seated and/or eating or drinking. Spruce Point Inn will have cloth masks available at the event for those in need. In addition to the event Aug. 7, Spruce Point Inn hopes to host additional events in partnership with local brands and producers through September 2020.
Spruce Point Inn is at 88 Grandview Ave. in Boothbay Harbor.
