Where Are They Now: Ramon Sessions - Brew Hoop

ketokdepan.blogspot.com

As this series details random Milwaukee Bucks players of the past, the player we talk about in this edition may be the most exciting random Bucks player. I’m talking about Ramon Sessions.

Ramon Sessions was selected by Milwaukee with the 56th overall pick in the 2007 Draft. After starting off in the D-League, he made his debut with the team in March of 2008 vs. the Sixers.

He’d close out with a strong flash to the season, scoring in double-figures five times to wrap up the 2007-08 campaign. On April 14th, he dished out a Bucks record of 24 assists in a game against the Bulls. That was the third-highest single-game total by a rookie in NBA history. Following that performance, he tallied 25 points (along with 14 assists) against Minnesota. These efforts earned him the Rookie of the Month award for April.

Sessions would have a solid campaign with Milwaukee in the 2008-09 season. He’d register double-digit performances 53 times. That included 12 games with at least 20 points and one 40+ point game. He would earn his first career triple-double against the Lakers on April 1st.

Sessions would leave Milwaukee as a restricted free agent the following year, as he headed to Minnesota and joined the Timberwolves on a four-year, $16 million deal. During the offseason, Sessions was traded along with Bucks Twitter’s favorite analyst Ryan Hollins and a 2nd-round pick to Cleveland in exchange for Delonte West and Sebastian Telfair.

He’d average a career-high 13.3 points with the Cavs. He then was traded to the Lakers in March. During his time in the City of Angels, he averaged 9.7 points, 3.6 assists, and three rebounds.

Sessions signed with the Bobcats in July of 2012. Appearing in 61 games, he averaged another career-high stat line of 14.4 points, 3.8 assists, and 2.8 rebounds.

The next year, Sessions was dealt back to Milwaukee. He was sent along with Jeff Adrien for Gary Neal and Luke Ridnour. His highlights from that year were going 11-for-11 from the line in one game and scoring a season-high 28 points in his first ever start for the team.

Sessions’ career would then turn into a game of musical chairs. He signed with Sacramento the following year. He was then sent to Washington for Andre Miller. A year later, he landed up in Charlotte. In August of 2017, he signed with the New York Knicks, but waived shortly after. He then returned to Washington where he finished out the year.

In November of 2018, Sessions landed with Maccabi Tel Aviv of the EuroLeague. He then ultimately parted with the team due to personal reasons.

In 2019, Sessions was made part of the basketball operations team in New Orleans for the Pelicans.

What was your favorite Ramon Sessions moment as a member of the Bucks? Any recommendations of who to feature next in this series? Let us know in the comments!
