The Craft: 10 Films & Shows On Netflix For Fans To Binge Watch - Screen Rant

The 1996 film, The Craft surprised audiences back during its release when it became a surprise hit. Over the years, the supernatural horror film amassed a cult following and became a must-watch when it came to witches. The film follows four teenage girls as they commit themselves to witchcraft but go too far and must suffer the consequences.

The Craft has everything that makes for a popular supernatural film. There's teen drama, the allure of the occult, revenge and the threat of a greater power. Sadly some movies that are similar to the film aren't readily available on streaming platforms like Netflix. Don't worry, Netflix still has an array of binge-worthy content to satisfy the itch The Craft leaves behind.

10 The Witches (1990)

The Witches deviate from the seriousness that's seen in The Craft but still holds good fun if looking for a film about witches. These witches are pure evil and based on the 1983 books of the same name. It follows the story of a young boy and his grandmother who must save the children of the town.

A group of ordinary women hides an ugly and heinous nature. In reality, they're witches who are a dead set on eradicating all children. If looking for a bit more fun version of evil witches but that still has a dark allure, this film is a must-watch, especially before seeing the remake version.

9 Hemlock Grove (2013-2015)

Hemlock Grove was a short-lived show that gained a good amount of popularity for its supernatural storyline. It only had a total of three seasons but it has the chilling and dark aura that is seen in The Craft. The show centers around a fictional town and the sudden spree of murders.

What fans of the film will appreciate is the show's supernatural element hidden as people's dark secrets. A newcomer befriends the son of the town's wealthy family. Together they try to uncover the truth while hiding their own true nature.

8 Sleepy Hollow (1999)

Sleepy Hollow premiered only three years after The Craft but is worth a watch if looking for some spooky chills. The film starred Johnny Depp in the leading role of Ichabod Crane. Ichabod Crane is a police constable sent to Sleepy Hollow to investigate a series of bizarre deaths.

The gothic supernatural horror film is based on Washington Irving's 1820 short story about the Headless Horsemen. Fans of The Craft will come to enjoy the film's eery, dark and overall a chilling tale of dark magic. Magic that shouldn't be dabbled in and can lead to an unfavorable outcome.

7 Charmed (2018)

While the original Charmed show from 1998 might not be available on Netflix, there is a close second. That happens to be the 2018 reboot version. The show is available on Netflix and has the necessary drama, magic, and supernatural beings for fans of The Craft.

The show follows the same premise of three sisters who uncover their true nature as witches. After the death of their mother, they learn that they are the Charmed Ones, destined to help eradicate dark forces and protect the innocent.

6 Winchester (2018)

This supernatural horror movie will surely have the hairs on your back stand up straight. Winchester has the same supernatural feel The Craft has but amped up to the extreme. So much so it's more based in horror. Helen Mirren stars as Sarah Winchester as she suffers from the loss of her family and the haunting of spirits.

Winchester starts to go mad as she believes that she is cursed to be haunted by the victims of the firearms her husband created. The film has the use of mediums, ghosts, and spiritual possession from the beyond. It's not necessarily witchcraft but it's certainly a spine chilling fear of something not easily controlled.

5 American Horror Story (2011)

American Horror Story has been a widely successful anthology horror series on FX. Each season has its own mind-bending psychological theme. The show is dark, disturbing, and spooky to say the least. Fans of The Craft will surely love this series but might want to focus on the Coven season if looking for the use of witchcraft.

The season focuses on a coven of witches dating back to ancestors from Salem who now resides in New Orleans. They band together to help teach young witches magic as well as fighting for their survival in a modern era. The season even has flashbacks to the infamous Salem Witch Trials. 

4 Death Note (2017)

While Death Note didn't receive any favorable reviews for its on-screen adaptation of the popular manga and anime, it still has many themes similar to The Craft. The show tells the story of an outcast who comes into possession of a supernatural notebook called "Death Note" that's tied to a death god.

By writing the names of people in the book, they soon meet an unfavorable death. Much like The Craft, the teen starts to relish in his newfound power and takes revenge on those he deems unworthy or deserves punishment. Things go too far and he becomes consumed with power that leads to some dire consequences.

3 The Order (2019)

Netflix's The Order is geared more toward teen drama tied with the supernatural. The show is based around two main supernatural entities, werewolves and magic. A new college student is asked to join a secret society that is rooted in the dark world of magic.

In reality, he seeks revenge for his mother and soon comes to learn of another secret society bent of eradicating the Hermetic Order. So comes to light the ongoing battle between werewolves and dark magic. 

2 Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina (2018)

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina amassed a worldwide following for its unique spin on the popular television character many people are used to. This is due to the fact that the show is based on the Archie comic book version. This version is much darker, a bit scarier and more driven to the occult.

The show follows Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) as she must decide between her human life and her future studying magic at The Academy of the Unseen Arts. Interwoven is a chilling tale of Sabrina's hidden power and whether or not she will commit to the Dark Lord, Satan. The show has the occult and magic feel that fans of The Craft will enjoy. As well as a riveting teen drama.

1 The Magicians (2015-2020)

The Magicians is a different take on witches than what's seen in The Craft. The film uses magic based on the occult while The Magicians uses magic in terms of a natural ability. Based on the popular book series, the show starts off focusing on a grad student who gets admitted Brakesbills College for magic.

As the show progresses he and his new group of friends learn the ways of magic. But things aren't as simple when they get caught up in their mistakes that have some dire consequences that aren't an easy fix. There's a natural order to the world that's put in danger.
