We've had lots of fun highlights trickling in from the Bahamas all weekend long on our social media channels, from the cinematic recap courtesy video legend Reed Sellers, to our awesome photo galleries from our friends Nathan Wallach and Carson Herbert.

You'll find a few of my favorites below, be sure to check them out if you haven't already!

Women's Basketball finished non-conference play with 8-2 record

Christmas in the Murphy Center went off without a hitch on Friday…well, with some hitches in an at times uncomfortably tight game with Southern Illinois. But at the end of the final clock, the Lady Raiders pulled out a 62-61 win to end their non-conference play on a high note, after Sunday's game at Belmont was cancelled before tipoff due to COVID issues within the Bruins' program.

After her career-high 27-point game, freshman Jalynn Gregory earned freshman of the week of the honors from Conference-USA for the second time this season. She's the first player to earn either the league's player of the week or freshman of the week honor multiple times this season, having also been named C-USA Freshman of the Week, Dec. 6.

Trailing 57-55, Gregory buried a 3-pointer from the wing and was fouled with 2:01 remaining. She hit the free throw to complete the four-point play and give Middle Tennessee a 59-57 advantage. She dished out an assist on the next possession as the Lady Raiders pushed the lead to four and held on for the win.

As for the Lady Raiders, they'll start their C-USA journey in San Antonio on December 30, when they take on the UTSA Roadrunners at 7 p.m. And from Rick Insell's perspective, the extra days of holiday break from the cancellation couldn't have come at a better time.

"I think my team is ready for Christmas to get away from Coach Rick," Insell said. "We're tired, we've had a lot of tough, tough games. We'll give them six or seven days to themselves, where they can go home and be with their friends and their family. We'll come back on the 26th and start again."

Men's Basketball readies for final road test before conference play

On the opposite side of the Murphy Center, the Blue Raiders continued their perfect record at home, easing past Coastal Carolina 84-80 in a back-and-forth game that featured 15 lead changes, the most MT has experienced in a game this season.

It was a classic performance for this year's team, featuring plenty of points off turnovers (23), points off the bench (26) and getting to the line and knocking down the free shots (18-23 from the charity stripe).

"They're getting comfortable with our substitution pattern, knowing you don't have to go in there and make eight shots in order to get minutes," head coach Nick McDevitt said. "I think it relaxes guys knowing that if you're missing shots, you're going to play, if you're making shots, you're going to play. And now they see, I think it makes our guys play a little more relaxed."

MT has one last game before their own holiday break, taking on Chattanooga on the road on Wednesday evening. The Mocs have had a strong start to their own season, entering the contest 9-3, just like the Blue Raiders. One last test for his team ahead of the C-USA opener in the Glass House on December 30 against UTSA, McDevitt said.

"I like everything that I've seen from our team so far," McDevitt said. "We've shown the ability to win our home games, win neutral site games, now we've got to continue sneaking more wins on the road. I like the fact that we're 6-0 at the Murphy Center, you have to do that to be towards the top of the conference. You have to win all your home games, and you have to find a way to sneak some out on the road."
