Calling all beer lovers: Here are 10 can't-miss events during Arizona Craft Beer Week - AZCentral

While some celebrate love in February, others celebrate their love of craft beer. Arizona Craft Beer Week is back.

The Arizona Craft Brewers Guild, a local organization that advocates for Arizona's independent breweries, puts on the week-long celebration to encourage breweries to create new beers and show off the best of the best. Rob Fullmer, the guild's executive director, is proud of the increase of local participation.

"When it started it was a lot of brands not from here," Fullmer says. "But the past 10 years have really shown a lot of change and growth in our industry. Now there are so many local breweries involved and doing events."

Starting on Thursday, Feb. 6, Arizona Beer Week kicks off its 10th anniversary in Arizona with special beers, dinner pairings, parties and other events hosted at the state's breweries and beer bars.

Festivities continue through Sunday, Feb. 16, with the standout event Arizona Strong Beer Festival taking place on Saturday, Feb. 8. Some of the events are open to the public while others require tickets and have limited seating; most events are organized by individual breweries, restaurants and bars.

Out of more than 200 beer-centric celebrations across the state, here are 10 events not to miss at this year's Arizona Beer Week.

Kickoff dinners at Quiessence and Four Peaks

This year, there are two dinners celebrating the start of Arizona Beer Week. Quiessence at the Farm at South Mountain and Huss Brewing Co. have teamed up to host a collaboration beer dinner. Brewery owner and head brewer Jeff Huss worked with chef Dustin Christofolo to curate a selection of Huss beers and dishes that complement them. Ingredients from Quiessence's garden will dot the four-course menu. Tempe-based Four Peaks Brewing Co. is also hosting a kickoff dinner. The five-course meal features Four Peaks beer paired with food created by Valley chefs. Expect beef tartare, salmon, cheesecake and, of course, lots of beer.
