Castle Craft Window Service, manufacturer team up to provide masks for community during pandemic - Canon City Daily Record

Mark Castle, the owner and operator of Castle Craft Window Service, has realized the importance of everyone wearing a face mask when going out into public, and he’s also recognized that there is a shortage of those masks.

In response, Castle teamed up with the manufacturer who produces his company’s blinds and shades, “Comfortex,” and has ordered 600 masks to distribute to community members.

“The sooner we can cover up and get on board as a community, the sooner we can get back to life as we know it,” Castle said.

He is giving the non-surgical masks to community grocers, gas station attendants, restaurant employees, and police officers at no charge, and he is selling the rest to the public for $5 each, with $2 from each purchase going to local food banks.

“The food banks have been decimated,” he said. “We want to do some good for them.”

He received the supply of masks Thursday and will begin distributing them Monday.

“These are super comfy,” he said. “They are made of nylon and have a drawstring in the back for secure comfort and they have metal nose pin.”

He said the masks are made of high-quality polyester.

“Our big push is to get out into the community and encourage people to cover up because they are the ones on the front lines and dealing with people in restaurants, banks and gas stations,” Castle said.

“We are so blessed and thankful that the community supports our business and we feel it is pertinent to give back,” Castle said.

Rob Brown and Fremont Economic Development Corp. also contributed funds for the masks.
