Star Japanese swimmer and Asian Games MVP Rikako Ikee has been diagnosed with leukemia, the 18-year-old Olympic hopeful announced via Twitter on Tuesday. The Tokyo native felt ill during a three-week training camp in Australia earlier this month and left early to return to Japan to be examined by medical staff. Ikee won six gold medals at Jakarta Asian Games last summer, where she was named the MVP of the competition. She will withdraw from national championships in April in Tokyo.
